A Review: Amazon Echo Dot
During the last Prime Day sale held by Amazon, I decided to purchase an Amazon Echo Dot. I purchased it for $45 and it was delivered in two days because of Prime. The reason I wanted to purchase an Amazon Echo Dot was really because I wanted a Bluetooth speaker for my bedroom. After using it for a while I’m not impressed.
I’ll start on a positive note. The design looks beautiful. I have the black one and it fits in perfectly with my décor. Its small size makes it easy to put it anywhere. The Alexa assistant can be helpful at times. I have not ordered anything through my Echo Dot, however I usually use it to find out the weather and traffic updates.
What I don’t like about the Amazon Echo Dot is that the speaker is disappointing. The music does not sound clear or loud. Even with my phone right next to it, the sound quality was still poor. I wasn’t expecting surround sound, but my iPhone 7 Plus’ speaker sounds 100 times better than my Echo Dot.
As a person that loves gadgets, I was very unsatisfied by Amazon’s Echo Dot. I’m curious if the full size Echo has a better speaker. I am also looking into HomePod and Google Home, even though they are both more expensive. Although the price point of the Amazon Echo Dot is great, this product is not the best.
