How to shop for virgin hair extension for weave
After wearing pack hair you are ready to invest in quality virgin hair. Now that you have decided to make an investment, where do you start? Don’t just buy some hair because your friend or hair stylist is selling it for cheap. These are the things you need to figure out for yourself before you buy any virgin hair extensions.
What do you want?
One of the most wonderful aspects of virgin hair extensions is that you can create a look that you wouldn’t be able to achieve with your natural hair. There are dozens of textures and hundreds of companies selling hair, so it’s important you know what you want. Find a picture that looks like what you want so that way you’ll have reference to show a stylist.
Consult your stylist?
Now that you have a picture of what you want so show it to your stylist. If the style you choose is similar to your real hair (in texture and color) you can wear a u part wig or an install in with leave out. If the look doesn’t match your natural hair, you will need to buy a closure or have your stylist make one for you. Your stylist maybe able to tell you what kind of hair you need in order to achieve the style you want.
What is your budget?
Before you start looking at any hair prices, figure out your budget. Virgin hair is sold in either bundles or ounces, not packs. The shorter length hair cost less money and comes with more hair in each bundle. The longer length hair cost more money and usually comes with less hair in each bundle.
Bundle prices can start at $50 and go up to $300. An 8 inch bundle usually cost $50 to $60 and a 28 inch bundle can cost $295 to $315. If the hair is 22 inches or shorter, than you will need 3 to 4 bundles for a sew-in with leave out or a u part wig. For hair longer than 22 inches you will need 4 to 5 bundles make your hair full.
You need to spend additionally money on a closure, get ready to increase your budget. Closures usually cost $100- 200 and they come in either lace or silk. Lace closures are the most commonly used and silk closures look more natural.
Choose a texture
Don’t get caught up in country names, look at the curl pattern. The most versatile hair is wavy hair, it holds a curl well and straightens easily. Straight hair is the easiest to maintain and deep curly/wavy hair is the driest and needs the most product. All this hair can be colored, cut, relaxed, or permed so if you want you can change the texture later. Changing the texture will weaken the texture of the hair.
Research the company before you purchase
This last step is perhaps the most important. Virgin hair retailers are a dime a dozen and they don’t all sell quality hair. Before you purchase any hair search YouTube and Google for customer reviews.
Don’t listen to hair gurus because most of them offer favorable reviews for free hair. Look for videos made by average people you have spent their hard earned money on some hair. If you see a lot of bad reviews, don’t buy it. If you see good reviews then purchase your hair from them.
I personally prefer Lozo’s Virgin Hair and Princess Hair Shop. Both of these companies have great hair and superb customer service
