A Review: Generic Value Products Flat Iron and Curling Wand

I love curls and waves in my hair. I try not to use heat products on my hair, but if I do I’m reaching for my Generic Value Products. Other affordable heat tools don’t last for years or the don’t really get that hot. I used to just run to Wal-Mart and get the grab the cheapest iron available, but then my Mom bought me a GVP flat iron.

My GVP flat iron and curling wand.

The flat iron she purchased was the GVP Digital Ceramic Flat Iron. It cost $69.99 and it can be purchased at Sally’s Beauty Supply. The temperature ranges from 160 to 450 degrees. It’s a 1-inch iron and its sleek design makes easy to hold in your hand. The tangle free swivel chord doesn’t get in your way and it’s really long compared to your average flat iron. Out of all the amazing features, my favorite part of this flat iron are the plates. They are not ceramic coated they are actually ceramic. No matter how many times I use this iron the plates are always smooth. Even when I use it to curl my hair, it never pulls or sticks to my hair.

Whether I’m straighten my hair or my wig, it comes out bone straight every time. The consistency of the straighten on all different textures of hair is very impressive. From now on all my flat irons will be GVP.

Since the GVP flat iron was amazing I decided to purchase the GVP Professional 1 inch curling wand. I had another curling wand but it was taped so I wanted a straight one. After looking online I saw that GVP had a curling wand that was exactly what I was looking for. I was purchased also from Sally’s Beauty Supply for $49.99. The wand heats to 410 degrees and also has a 9-foot tangle free swivel chord. When I use this on my wig the hair looks phenomenal. I always get completes on how amazing the waves look and it gives the hair a shiny finish. The wand curls last for weeks on virgin hair extensions and on my real hair I can get a solid 3 days.  Although it isn’t ceramic, my hair doesn’t stick to it or pull at my hair.
