A Review: Janet Collection 2X Mambo Twist Braid 24 inch
Every couple of months I try to wear a hairstyle that will give my leave out a rest. I look for a style that is easy, affordable, and something I can do at home. Last December I tried crocheted twist for the first time. The twist I used were Janet Collection’s 2X Mambo Twist Braid 24 inch. I just reinstalled the twist for a second time, so I thought why not review them.
I’ll start with the pros. They are very easy to install. Once your cornrows are complete, all you have to do it crochet the twist in. The process is quick and learning how to do it is not that hard. Another thing I love about these twist is that they are resilient. They can get wet; you can style them, and even take them out and put them back in. These twists will keep their shape and won’t look frizzy. Whenever I wear them I get a lot of compliments. It’s also easy to dress them up by putting them into a bun.
Here’s what I don’t like about these twist. They are very heavy. Even with just 4 packs, my neck hurts and I constantly get headaches. Last time, I wore the twist for 4 weeks. This time I will be removing them after 2 weeks. Another drawback to these twists is that they are hard. Some synthetic hair is created to feel soft like human hair, but this hair isn’t. In addition to the hair being dry and scratchy, it sucks the moisture out of your real hair. Every other day I have to oil my scalp or else my scalp will start to flake excessively.
Ultimately, I will not be wearing or purchasing Janet Collection 2X Mambo Twist Braid 24 inch every again. However, I will try other crochet twist and hopefully I will have a better experience.
