First Impressions: Herbal Essences Naked Cleansing Conditioner and Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioning Cream
Cleansing conditioners became very popular a couple of years ago, but I wasn’t convinced they actually clean your hair. I mostly heard about Wen, which many people with relaxer claimed it tried out there hair. After hearing that I went back to shampoo and conditioner and didn’t think about cleansing conditioners for quite some time.
A couple of weeks ago I came across dozens of videos raving about Herbal Essences Naked Cleansing Conditioner. Since it was only $5 at Target, I figured I try it. I used about 4 pumps for my first cleanse and could immediately see the brown build up being washed out of my hair. On the second and third wash I only used 3 pumps, my hair felt so clean and soft. This product has a pleasant smell that isn’t overbearing or smells like perfume. Like all the Herbal Essences Naked products, this conditioner has no parabens, sulfates, or colorant.
Although this product is great for real hair, it does not work well of human hair extensions. I used this cleansing conditioner to wash my wigs and the still felt gummy after two washes.
My hair was always so dry after I let it air dry, so I began to search for live in conditioner products. I tried the sprays and liquids, however my hair still felt dry when I went to style it. I decided to try the Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioning Cream after I saw it on sale at Target for $2.
This left my hair feeling strong and soft. It has very strong apricot smell and if you don’t like fruity perfumes, it may bother you. I just rubbed it through my damp hair, combed my hair, and let it air dry. My hair was more manageable and easier to style after using this product and I think it will be permanently added to my hair regimen.
On human hair extensions, this products works wonders. It instantly heals dry ends and gives the hair a more natural shine. It doesn’t weight the extensions down or leave a residue on the hair.
