Summer Wishlist 2024

This summer I am trying to keep my makeup from melting off and to stop my skin from breaking out.

That’s it.

I am researching and looking into various products, but if I am honest, there are very few things I am excited about. Below are some of the things I am currently looking into.

1) Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Mattifying Water Powder Serum with Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid, $36

I have oily skin and it is very challenging to wear makeup in the summer. All year round, my makeup gets broken down by my oily t-zone. I am curious if this new powder serum from Danessa Myricks will work for me. In my research, I haven’t seen any good reviews but this product is sold out everywhere. I am loving a new primer I am testing so I may wait on this one until next summer.

2) Fenty Beauty Fenty Eau De Parfum Travel Spray, $39

I still haven’t tried the Fenty Parfum. I am so late. I keep hearing the scent doesn’t last which is why I will not buy the full size. Right now, I am most curious about how it will smell with my body chemistry. Although I love fragrances, it is a product I don’t purchase often. There are so many perfumes I already love and I want to keep them in my collection. I may try this in the fall or winter when perfume lasts longer on me.

3) Made by Mitchell Curve Case Deep, $38

This makeup product has been all over social media. Blush, bronzer, and contour are some of my favorite makeup products so I want to try this. I am hesitant to purchase this because I don’t always use cream. This palette is large and it will be difficult to travel with like I do my other makeup products. However, this palette is truly iconic so I may just have to buy it. The blushes in this palette are absolutely gorgeous.

4) Westman Atelier Lip Suede Hydrating Matte Lipstick with Hyaluronic Acid in the shade Le Rouge, $50

Every time I walk into Sephora I look at this lipstick. The problem is I can’t decide which shade to get. It’s between Le Rouge and Tomato. The packaging is heavy and feels expensive. Sadly, the range leaves a lot to be desired. I have not been excited about high-end lipsticks recently so I hope this lipstick lives up to the hype.

5) Patrick Ta Major Dimensions Eyeshadow Palette, $70

My favorite eyeshadow palette right now is the Patrick Ta Major Dimension III. I have used it for every makeup look I created this year. These are some of the best matte eyeshadows I have used in a long time. As far as I am concerned, it’s Patrick Ta, Pat McGrath, and MAC in my top 3. I haven’t tried any of the other Patrick Ta palettes and I am excited to see if the shimmer shadows are good too. I am very aware that I am late on the Patrick Ta train but hey, better late than never.

6) Happy Scalp, Scalp and Hair Treatment, $14.99

My scalp is dry and itchy. I have been able to decrease scalp dryness and dandruff by using neutralizing shampoo. In my quest to continue to focus on my scalp health, I want to try this happy scalp treatment. My goal is for my scalp to have less dandruff and overall irritation. My hair is doing well but I would love to see if this product improves my hair.

7) Spa Sciences LELA Ultrasonic Facial Spatula System, $29.99

The social media algorithms keep showing me people using ultrasonic spatulas to remove dandruff from their scalps. I have been slightly influenced. My question is does it damage your hair when you do this? This trend is relatively recent so I am waiting to see if people start to discuss the negative effects before I try it. This could also be a cool skincare tool for my face. There are more expensive options but since this would be my first one I think I should start at a drugstore price point.

8) Naturium The Glow Getter Body Oil, $24

My favorite body oil went from $35 to $42. So now I have to find a new favorite. I have been 50/50 on products from Naturium so far. Half of the time the products are amazing, the other half of the time my skin gets destroyed and takes months to heal. I feel like a body oil shouldn’t be able to cause too much damage but I am still a little nervous.

9) Naturium Phyto-Glow Lip Balm The Café Collection, $40

I love a good lip balm. Especially because I have dry lips. I want all of these shades and purchasing them together is the best deal. I haven’t tried any of the Phyto-Glow lip balms so I want to find out why they are so popular.
