First Impression: Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional

I have never been a fan of primers. They usually cause me to get breakouts. I don’t find that they make my makeup last longer so I stopped using them. Although I don’t use primers, I always wanted to try Benefit’s The POREfessional.

It actually does make your pores less noticeable. It has a grayish cast on brown skin, so you have to put some sort of very pigmented tinted product on top. The texture feels like a powder when you put it on your face and blends very easily. This primer did cause me to have an allergic reaction, so I can’t continue to use it.

On a whim, I purchased this primer from Sephora. I got the mini size for $10, which has 0.25 ounces of product. The full size cost $42 for 1.5 ounces of product.

The reason why you should buy this primer is because it will help your liquid foundation last all day. This primer doesn’t work for cream foundations. It didn’t cause my foundation to oxidize or do anything strange. If you have dry skin you may want to avoid this primer, it is not moisturizing at all.

This product has kind of convinced me to rethink my opinion of foundation primers. However, I am still on the search for one that won’t cause me to have breakouts. I have had a love/hate relationship with Benefit products. I loved their Brow bar and hated their blushes. I’m going to add The POREfessional to the hate list.
