A Review: Black Radiance and Wet N Wild 8 Color Eyeshadow Palettes

Eyeshadow palettes are the most affordable way to build your eyeshadow collection. The most popular drugstore eyeshadow palettes are those with 8 to 20 different colors in them. Markwins Beauty Products makes some of the most vivid and eye catching drugstore eyeshadow palettes.

From top left to bottom right: Urban Jungle (Black Radiance), Blue to Had Meet You (Wet N Wild), Petal Pusher (Wet N Wild), and Comfort Zone (Wet N Wild).

Each of these palettes cost around $8 and were purshaed at CVS and Rite Aid. Two companies that sell palettes manufactured by Markwins are Black Radiance and Wet N Wild. Here are some brief reviews about some of these 8 color palettes.

Black Radiance, Urban Jungle

Out of all of these palettes, this is my favorite one. Unlike the other 8 color palettes, these shadows have less shimmer and less fall out. One shade is very close to being a natural lid shade color for me, which is another reason I love this palette. The color payoff is very opaque, which makes it ideal for women of darker skin tones. The brown and green shades also make brown eyes stand out. If you wanted to you could use 3 of the colors in this palette to create a daytime eye look.

Wet N Wild, Petal Pusher

The petal pusher palette is my least favorite out of 4 palettes I have. I don’t like it because 5 of the 8 shades have chunky glitter that produces a lot of fall out.  Besides excessive amounts of fall out, these shadows are hard to blend which makes them time consuming to use in the morning when you’re in a rush. The brow bone shades are especially harsh and are to light to coordinate with the other shadows in my opinion. The purple shades look pretty in the palette, but I would not recommend this product.

If you’re looking for a smaller cheaper version of the high-end natural color eyeshadow palettes, this is a good dupe. Five of the shades have a satin finish and 3 have shimmer, which makes it great for everyday and evening makeup looks. This palette has minimal fall out and the colors are suitable for every skin tone. Fans of Urban Decay’s Naked palettes will like this palette.

Unlike the other palettes, this one is harder to find. It’s a very solid blue palette for special nights out. These colors can be paired with neutral matte colors in order to create a day look. There is a lot of fall out with this palette so you have to be careful.  The brow bone shades look ridiculous, however the other 6 shades are unique and pretty. The best reason to purchase this palette is because it is an affordable way to experiment with blue eyeshadows.
