Best in Beauty from New York Fashion Week Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear
Honor
Graphic blue eyeliner was the star of the beauty look featured in Honor’s spring 2015 presentation. Combined with a smudge of pink eyeshadow under the eye, the look was edgy and simple. A mascara with a more wet formula was used to achieve the spider lash look and the blush and lip are very natural. The nails were squoval (square and oval) and royal blue with pearl accents. I like that the beauty look incorporated nails and I will be wearing that liner look next spring.
Carolina Herrera
Some all you need is five things: Brows, mascara, highlight, contour, and a red lip. It might sound like a lot but once you master the technique you will always have a go to Friday night face. Add a small amount of red powder blush to create a naturally flushed look. Some make think that “less is more,” is a cliché, but in this case it is true.
Rodebjer
Multi-layer graphic eyeliner is here to stay. The best example of this trend is the eye look worn by models in Rodebjer presentation. The two-tiered black eyeliner had a strong wing and came down half way under the eye. Gel eyeliner with an angled brush or felt tipped liquid eyeliner are the best ways to achieve this look. The contour and brow were very strong in this look and the lips were a natural mauve color.
The Blonds
The best hair award definitely goes to The Blonds. All the models dawned long blond tresses. My favorite hairstyle to hit the runway was the massive high braided ponytail with natural colored roots.
In terms of makeup, a pink neutral lip was paired with a strong sculpted brow and a champagne shimmering highlight. This makeup look is one that can be copied verbatim and it won’t look clownish. A gold lid, black liner, and lashes completed the look on each model. Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, you can achieve this look.
The nails for this look were the best I’ve seen at fashion week in a long time. The theme between the eight different nail looks is gold. Chains, flowers, and pictures of the Virgin Mary made the nails unique and phenomenal.
