A Review: Yves Saint Laurent Fusion Ink Foundation

This is the best foundation I ever tried and it is also the most expensive. I purchased this foundation from Sephora during the VIB sale in early November. My shade is B 65 warm toffee (my MAC shade is NW 44). Originally, I got the shade B 65 toffee however it was to light. After I figured out my correct shade, I feel in love with this foundation. The reason I love this foundation is because it covers everything and it is so light-weight. The finish is matte and it doesn’t look natural, but it makes your skin look flawless.

I personally think that this is a full coverage foundation because it covers almost every imperfection on my face. The only imperfection this foundation can’t really cover is texture issues. Your skin needs to be exfoliated and moisturized to make sure the foundation doesn’t stick to dry patches. If you have very dry skin you may want to avoid this foundation. The consistency is very thin, much thinner than the average liquid foundation. The liquid feels dry when you rub it onto your face.

My favorite way to apply this foundation is with my fingers and then setting it with a damp sponge. I have also applied this foundation with a brush and it still looked great. Instead of a pump, the bottle has a quill that is designed to strategically place product on your face. Using the quill is kind of unsanitary, but I still use it anyway.

At $60 a bottle, I’m not sure if this will be my everyday foundation. It is easily my favorite because it is so light-weight you can’t feel it on your face. For those with sensitive skin, I haven’t experienced any allergic reactions from this product. There are 21 shades but the shades are not nearly dark enough. Hopefully they will add more shades in the future.
