A Review: Real Techniques Starter Kit
Makeup brushes are essential when it comes to flawless makeup application. The cheapest brushes tend to be inconsistent and shed constantly. High-end makeup brushes can easily cost upwards of $25 each, making them a huge expense. These Real Technique brushes are affordable and great quality.
I purchased these brushes at Ulta for $17.99. There are 5 brushes in the kit which means each brush cost about $3.60. The types of brushes included in this kit are a base shadow brush, deluxe crease brush, accent brush, pixel-point eyeliner brush, and a brow brush. These brushes are soft and great at picking up powder and cream eyeshadows.
The base shadow brush is great for putting eyeshadow all over your eyelid. The crease brush is dense and large, which means it takes hard to use in your crease if you have a small eye. The accent brush is the perfect size to add a highlight under your brow and in the inner corner of your eye. If you contour your eyebrows with concealer, the brow brush will come in handy and it’s easy to clean which is important.
My favorite brushes are the base shadow brush and pixel-point eyeliner brush. The base shadow brush makes blending eyeshadow so easy and it’s relatively small so it works for every size eye. The pixel-point eyeliner brush makes using gel eyeliner easy a pie. The bristles come together to make a smooth point I use to line my waterline with gel eyeliner.
