Layover in Lisbon
First, I struggle to say Lisbon currently so I'm glad I'm writing this and not talking about it. Second, Lisbon is cool.
I was only in Lisbon for about 7 hours. It took me an hour each way getting through security so I really I had 5 hours. So I decided to get on a hop on hop off bus so I could see the city. Disclaimer: all of my pictures are through the bus window so they are not the best representation of my photography skills.
I didn't go to specific sights, so I can't really tell you where to go. Except for the Christmas market. If you read my last travel post about my trip to Germany then you already know how I feel about Christmas markets.
The Christmas markets in Lisbon were not as grand as the ones in Germany but they felt more "homey". I got this empanada style fish pocket that was absolutely delicious. The weather was 60 degrees in December so I was in heaven. There were so many different vendors I regret not buying more stuff.
Riding around the city it was a mix of half London and half old town Panama City. The layout of the city is similar to other European cities. However, the buildings were brightly colored like the old cities of Central America. A few buildings were modern, but most of them looked historical.
My favorite part of my bus tour was riding by the water. It was the center of all the action and the one time I actually wish I got off the bus. There are some many monuments and museums in this area, it's really cool. Portugal is a great place to visit and I hope I get back there someday.
