A Review: Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick

Most foundations only experience short-term popularity. A celebrity endorses it and everyone is talking about it for a year or two, then we move on to the next new thing. For decades, the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick has remained a top selling foundation loved by people of all ages.

In 2014 Elle, Glamour, Latina Magazine, Instyle, Cosmopolitan, and Ebony all listed the Skin Foundation Stick as one of their top foundation picks. I’ve always been curious about this foundation so I decided to try it. The Bobbi Brown Skin foundation stick can be purchased at Sephora, Sephora.com, Bobbi Brown counters and bobbibrowncosmetics.com. It cost $44 for .31 ounces of product.

What made me interested in this product were the idea of quick application and the shade range. I was specifically looking for a foundation I could throw on quickly before I go to work. This product is a cream and is ideal for all skin types, especially dry skin. It can easily be blend out for light coverage or be layered on for a full coverage look.

This foundation is a great match for my yellow undertones. My shade is warm walnut. There are 24 shades and it’s easy to find one that is close to the color of your natural skin tone.  Just swipe the stick where you need the most coverage and blend it out with a sponge or brush. The satin finish looks a little shiny so you may need powder your t zone. I have dry combination skin and this foundation won’t stick to your dry patches or make oily spots look obvious.

Although I think this is a solid foundation, there are some things I would like to change about it. For example, it transfers to easily. If you hug someone or wear a scarf around your neck it will be covered in foundation. Also, most foundations give you at least 1 ounce of product.  I feel like I’m finishing this product really fast and I don’t want a foundation that I constantly have to replace.

I would probably purchase this foundation again because it looks more natural then most foundations I tried.
